Since coming to Yuma over a half century ago in 1950, the C.V. Spencer family has been growing and packing only the best citrus, becoming the largest independent citrus growing, packing, and marketing entity in the State of Arizona.
Located three miles west of the confluence of the Gila and Colorado Rivers, overlooking the fertile Gila Valley and the historic Yuma Crossing District, ASSOCIATED CITRUS PACKERS, INC. of Yuma operates the largest independent citrus growing, packing, and marketing entity in the State of Arizona. Shipping, in season, lemons, tangelos, Rio Red grapefruit, navel oranges, Hamlin oranges, blood oranges, and Valencia oranges form nearly 3,000 acres of Yuma County citrus groves, most of which are farmed by it's own farm managers (Spencer & Spencer Citrus Care). ASSOCIATED packs nearly one million cartons of fruit each season and markets this fruit world-wide under it's Kachina, Kiva, Dos Rios, El Patron, Don Rico, and Solano labels through it's own marketing division (Spencer Bros.).
Owned and operated by the C.V. Spencer family and it's partners and employees since 1979, ASSOCIATED CITRUS PACKERS, INC. has an excellent reputation for the quality control of it's fruit from bloom to loading for shipment to market. It's Kachina and Kiva labels are among the best known export citrus labels found in the Pacific Rim produce markets.
The C.V. Spencer family has been involved in the Yuma citrus industry since it's inception in the 1950's and, before that, in the California citrus industry in Orange County. In addition to their growing, packing, and marketing activity in Arizona, the family is involved in the propagation of citrus through the operation of it's own citrus nursery (Dos Rios Nursery) and is actively involved in the development of new citrus properties throughout the State.
Associated is also proud of it's support for the performing arts in Yuma as a Founding Member and continuing donor to Ballet Yuma, the only pre-professional ballet company in the entire state of Arizona to have attained Honor Company status with Regional Dance America.
